2017 Global Game Jam Project

Sight

Sight is an experimental game in which players guide an older blind man through a burning house. Players use environmental sounds and objects found throughout the home to understand the space and find a safe path outside.

Role Game Designer
Project Type Global Game Jam
Focus Sound-Based Navigation

Project Overview

The objective is to escort the character through the house and away from the fire. Because the character cannot rely on sight, the player listens for sounds placed throughout the environment to determine the correct path from room to room.

Players can also interact with objects found along the way to create additional sounds, helping them better understand their surroundings and move safely through the space.

My Contribution

As a Game Designer, I collaborated with the team on the core concept, player experience, and navigation mechanics. I helped shape how sound would communicate environmental information and guide the player through the house.

I also participated in testing and iteration during the limited game jam schedule, helping refine the experience so the sound cues were understandable and supported the intended gameplay.
